    George Harvey Christensen, 83, of Frankfort, passed away November 22, 2015.
    George was born on July 6, 1932, to Harvey and Evelyn Christensen. He graduated from Fordson High School, Dearborn, MI, in 1950. He attended the University of Michigan, where he ran track. After one year he transferred to Michigan State University where he earned a BS Degree in Light Construction and Building Merchandising, and met the love of his life, Beverly J. Christensen.
    Following graduation he enlisted in the Army where he was a member of the Third Armored Division 709th Tank Battalion, mortar division for two years, and spending much of his time in Germany. In 1958 he married Beverly.
    Over the years he worked for the city of Detroit, IBM, GM and finally retired from EDS Flint in 1992. After living in Flint Township for 30 years and raising three children. Beverly and George built their dream home on Upper Herring Lake in Frankfort and moved there in 1994.
    George was a member of Blaine Christian Church and the Michigan State University Alumni Club of Benzie County. He was a life member of Dearborn Masonic Lodge #172, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, and a member of the Order of Eastern Stars. He also received an honorary Silver Beaver Award for the work he did with the Boy Scouts of America.
    He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, traveling, reading, building and helping his family.
    George loved his children and seven grandchildren. They were his pride and joy.
    His is survived by his wife and best friend of 57 and half years, Beverly; son Mark (Cheri) Christensen of Lambertville, MI; daughter Jan (Jeff) Krause of Granbury, TX; son Kurt (Ann) of Bryon Center, MI; grandchildren Kelly (Eric) Binnendyk of West Olive, MI, Brent Christensen of Dowagiac, MI, Kayla Kody, and Kaira Krause of Granbury, TX, Kyle and Zoe Christensen of Bryon Center, MI. George is also survived by his brother Richard (Jean) Christensen, brother in law Robert Christensen as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Besides his parents, George was preceded in death by his brother Robert and sister in law Joan Christensen as well as Bev’s sister in law Jamie Christensen
    A life celebration will be held in July 2016. Donations in George’s memory may be made to Munson Hospice, Blaine Christian Church or MSU Alumni Scholarship Fund. Arrangements by Jowett.
