Death Notice | The Pemberville Leader, June 20, 1918 Mrs. Charles Hansen died at her home in Pemberville on last Friday morning, June 14, at 2 o’clock, aged 76 years 6 months and 8 days. Death was due to paralysis. She suffered a severe stroke two weeks ago. Anna Katherine Mary Hansen, nee Winter, was born in East Kiln, Germany, December 5, 1841, and was dedicated to the Lord in holy baptism on Dec. 12 of the same year. In 1845, she came to this country with her parents. She was confirmed by Pastor Cronenwett. In her eighteenth year, she was married to Mr. Henry Tonsing. Two children were born to this union, both preceding the mother into eternity. She was married again to Mr. Henry Frederick Driftmeyer. This union was blessed with seven surviving children, three sons and four daughters. Her third marriage was with the surviving husband, Mr. Charles Hansen. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon from Bethlehem’s Lutheran church, and was largely attended. The floral offerings were beautiful. Interment in Long cemetery. Mrs. Hansen was a woman of noble attrributs. She was always doing something for others. As her pastor said, at the close of the sermon, she not only lovingly and tenderly cared for her own children and family, but sheltered and fed weary wayfareres. She was a mighty good neighbor and would do anything to help a friend in need. Peace to her ashes. [8] | |
