Death Notice | BERNARD PAINCHAUD May 31, 2004 BERNARD ROBERT PAINCHAUD (BARNEY / BERNIE) It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Bernard, at Concordia Hospital, on Thursday, May 27, 2004 at the age of 66 years. Bernard is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, May; his brother, Marcel; sisters, Claire (Bernie) and Nicole; sister-in-law, Brenda Keyser (Peter Murdock), as well as nieces, Denise, Chantal, Melanie, Dominique and Kalyn; nephews, Robert, Karl, Danny, Justin and Mackenzie. He also leaves to mourn him, two aunts, Mrs. Marguerite Painchaud and Mrs. Madeleine Vinet and stepmother, Mrs. Jeannette Bothorel. Barney will be greatly missed by other relatives, many friends and business associates. Bernard was predeceased by his parents, Antoine and Claire (Dugal); brother Robert; sister-in-law, Valerie. Bernard was affiliated with several organizations such as: Blue Goose International (Insurance), Labatt Wildlife Association, Selkirk Game and Fish Handgun Club and the Royal Canadian Legion Prince Edward Branch No. 81. He sang with La Chorale des Intrepides and the Manitoba Sacred Music Choir which sang in Holland, May 1995 for the Liberation Services. Barney had a "big heart" and always made time to help others. He was known for his love of fishing, hunting, playing competitive pool and travelling. Many people will miss his computer expertise. He lived life to the fullest and his "joie de vivre" will be missed. A celebration of Bernard's life will be held on Wednesday, June 2 at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Dr. at 10:30 a.m. Viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Suite 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
