    Passed away Wednesday morning, Mr. Deem was born January 16, 1904, in Three Rivers, and was a life long resident of Kalamazoo and vicinity. He was owner of Don Deem Stag at 332 E. Michigan and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. Mr. Deem is survived by his wife, Virginia Jean; one son, Donald Jr.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Claud Davis and Mrs. Percy Maystead; one stepson, Harold Whitmore of Kalamazoo; one sister and 2 brothers, Mrs. Grace DeMink and Floyd Deem of Kalamazoo and Merrill Deem of Pontiac; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at the Langeland Memorial Chapel Saturday morning at 10:30 o’clock, Rev. Charles R. Julbert, of the Portage St. Baptist Church, officiating. Interment in Mountain Home Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.

      Donald Deem, of Trimble avenue, nearly lost a finger Saturday when he started to feed the horse belonging to the Stilson Grocery some grass. The horse bit rather sharply and took part of his finger off.
