Death Notice | Ottawa County News, Port Clinton, Ohio, Friday, March 4, 1932 Mrs. Florence Tonsing Dies on 80th Birthday Mrs. Florence Galion Tonsing died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Hall, in Toledo, on February 27, 1932, aged 80 years. Death was due to the infirmities of old age. She was born February 27, 1852, in Richman county, West Virginia, and came to Ohio with her parents, and was married to Casper Tonsing. The body was taken to the home of a daughter, Mrs. Howard Hall, at Gypsum. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the Community church, at Gypsum, Rev. Cook conducting the service. The body was laid to rest in Riverview cemetery. The Republican-Herald, Friday, March 4, 1932 AGED WOMAN WAS BURIED ON TUESDAY The body of Mrs. Florence Gallion Tonsing, 80, who died at the home of her daughter in Toledo, Saturday, was brought here for burial Tuesday. Mrs. Tonsing was born at Richmond County, Wa. Va. Feb 27, 1852. There she lived until 1877, when she moved with her family to Ohio. Since then she has made her home in Ottawa and Lucas counties. She died on her birthday anniversary at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Hall, after a short illness. Her husband, Casper Tonsing, preceded her in death three years ago. Two daughters and one son also preceded her in death. She was buried from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Howard Hall in Gypsum Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Fred Cook officiating. Her body was laid to rest at Riverview cemetery, beside that of her husband. She leaves to mourn, two daughters, Mrs. John Hall, Toledo and Mrs. Howard Hall here, one son Isiah Owen, of Toledo, fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. [5, 6] | |
