Death Notice | HOOGAKKER, MR. Barney K. 911 Trimble Passed away Fri. morning, Feb 29, 1980 at his residence. He was born in the Netherlands on Dec. 22, 1888, son of Claud and Jennie Oosterhouse Hoogakker, and he married Annie Nuyen on Sept. 3, 1912. She passes away Sept. 22, 1970. A son, William, and a daughter, Hermina Langdon, also preceded him in death. He came to Kalamazoo in 1904 and retired from the Sutherland Paper Co. in 1954 after 14 years of employment. He is survived by his son, Claude of Scotts, 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Friends are being received at the JOLDERSMA & KLEIN FUNERAL HOME where the family will be present from 7-9 Sat. evening and from 204 and 7-9 Sunday. Funeral services will be held Mon. afternoon at 3 o’clock at the New Apostolic Church, Kalarama at Cypress, with the Rev. Kenneth Cook officiating. Internment in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Kalamazoo Gazette, September 1, 1967, p 21 Couple to Mark 55th Anniversary With Open House Mr. nd Mrs. Barney Hoogakker, 10179 W. Main, will celebrate theeir 55th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 5 pm Sunday at their home Mr. Hoogakker and the former Annie Nuyen were married Sept 3, 1912 in Kalamazoo. The open house will be given by th ecouple’s children: Mrs. Armena Langdon, Kalamazoo and Claude Hoogakker, Scotts Route 1. Another son, William Hoogakker, is deceased. The couple also has 10 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Mr Hoogakker was employed by Sutherland Paper Co. before his retirement. | |||||||
