Death Notice | Newaygo Republican LAST RITES FOR EDWARD BUSHEN HELD Injured in Shop Accident at Muskegon Wednesday, Succumbs Next Day Funeral services were held at the Newaygo Congregational church Sunday afternoon for Edward Bushen, 41, who died last Thursday in Hackley hospital, in Muskegon of injuries received in an accident at the Campbell, Wyant & Cannon foundry. Mr. Bushen and two of his co-workers were working on a scaffold about thirty feet above the floor when a boiler exploded below them, making it necessary for them to jump to the floor or be scalded. Mr. Bushen received injuries of the feet, legs and spine in the jump. Mr. Bushen was born in Scranton, Pa., on March 2, 1905, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bushen, both of whom are still living in Newaygo. The family came to Michigan when he was about five years old. In addition to his parents, he leaves his wife, Dora; two sons, Gerald and Gordon at home; a sister, Mrs. Edna Mangan of Newaygo, and two brothers, Albert of Fremont, and a Robert at home. He was a member of Newaygo lodge No. 131, F&AM. Rev. Lawrence Horning conducted the funeral services. Burial took place in Newaygo cemetery. | |
