Death Notice | H. R. “Bud” Tonsing 78, of Fort Wayne died Saturday in Miller's Merry Manor. The Fort Wayne native retired in 1974 as a superintendent for International Harvester Co. after 40 years. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and its choir, Knights of Columbus, Benevolent Order of Elks, Senor Men's Golf League, and foreman's club of IHC. Surviving are his wife, Peggy; a daughter, Betty Kathryn Carter of South Africa; sons, Art and Joe, both of Fort Wayne; sisters, Thelma Arnold and Roselle Tonsing, both of Fort Wayne; and six grandchildren. Services are 9 a.m. Thursday in D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., and 9:30 a.m. in the Cathedral, with burial in Catholic Cemetery. Calling is 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, with a vigil at 7:30 p.m. Preferred memorials are gifts to Masses. [2] | |
