Death Notice | Fritz Nicholas Jonkman, 78, retired contractor and builder, died Thursday, Dec. 20, in Holland hospital as the result of a cerebral hemorrhage suffered in his home at 576 State St. about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19. Well known in this area among builders and traders, he was born in Garrelsweer, province of Groningen, the Netherlands, Nov. 17, 1867, son of Nicholas Jonkman and Arendina Jager Jonkman. He came to the Untied States at the age of 23 and lived in Holland more than 50 years, coming here after spending a short time in Grand Rapids.
