Death Notice | Willmar Tribune, Willmar, Minnesota, September 26, 1906, Image 4, Chronicalling America Mrs. Sabina Johanna Toensing, widow of Gerhart H. Toensing, of the town of Harrison, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Kahmeyer, last Saturday, her death resulting from dropsy. The funeral was held at the German Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon, and was conducted by the new pastor, Rev. Rathert. There was a large attendance at the funeral. Deceased was born in Vene, Germany, March 2, 1834. She was thus 72 years of age at the time of her death. While still a resident of Germany she was united in marriage with Gerhart H. Toensing. In 1869 the family emigrated from their native land and came to this conntry, settling first at Cleveland, Ohio. They remained there about seven years, and in 1876 came to this country, settling in the town of Harrison, which was ever after the home of deceased until the time of her death. The husband of deceased died March 1, 1895. Five children survive her, namely: Mrs. Henry Kahmeyer of Harrison; Mrs. Geo. Feig of Atwater, F. J. Toensing and William Toensing of St. Paul, and E. H. Toensing of Cleveland, North Dakota. All were present at the funeral. | |
